Connect Current.business to Claude
You can now add Current.business to an AI client such as Claude and ask about your business in conversation, instead of clicking through to find things:
- "What's outstanding on Acme?"
- "Which contracts renew in the next 60 days?"
- "Show me the open tasks on the server refresh job."
- "How are we doing this month?"
It answers from your live data, so you are not copying figures between tabs to ask a question.
Read-only, and off until you turn it on
Two deliberate limits in this release:
Nothing can be changed. Every connected app has read access only. It cannot create, edit or delete anything — not a quote, not a client, not a time entry.
It is switched off by default. An owner or admin turns it on for the organisation under Settings → Connected Apps. Until then, nothing can connect. Turning it off again cuts off already-connected apps immediately.
Your existing roles decide what an app can see
An app connected by you sees exactly what you see, and no more — the same role you already have.
Some things are held back regardless of role, because they have no business appearing in a chat transcript: supplier account credentials, client-portal passwords, site access codes, and tax identifiers. Cost, margin and supplier pricing are shown to owners and admins only, while the prices and totals your customers already see on their own quotes and invoices are available to everyone who can open the document.
If you belong to more than one organisation, you choose which one a connection may read when you approve it, and it only ever sees that one. Connect a second organisation by adding a second connector.
Managing connections
Settings → Connected Apps is the new home for all of this: step-by-step instructions with the address to paste into Claude, a list of everything you have connected and what it can read, and a disconnect button for each.
One thing worth knowing: disconnecting stops an app from getting new access, but access it already holds can keep working for up to 15 minutes. If you need it cut off immediately, an owner or admin can switch app access off for the whole organisation — that takes effect on the very next request.
